Good quality paper!
This sketchbook is of high quality. The binding is robust, and the pages are securely stitched. The paper is smooth and lacks texture, making it ideal for pencil, ballpoint pens, and Micron pens. I also experimented with light watercolor washes and was pleased with the outcome. However, because the paper has minimal texture, dry media may not adhere as well. Overall, this sketchbook is excellent for visual journaling, writing, and sketching.

    Ok folks, I LOVE this sketchbook, and here's why: it is like a bunch of printer paper shoved together in a well-bound book. The paper IS NOT special, and that is precisely why I love it. I don't feel pressure to make "nice" work. I just scribble away, which is how I truly learn. I've had sketchbooks of "nice" paper before I realized I hardly use them because I sometimes feel like scribbling or making stupid notes that are, in my opinion, not worthy of the "special" paper. I LOVE THIS sketchbook and it will always be my go-to. It's allowed me to create so much more than I ever have before. And the little elastic that keeps it closed is also helpful. I love turning other drawers onto this book. Enjoy!

    This is an okay sketchbook. The paper is similar to heavier weight copy paper. It's smooth, crisp, and takes pencil, color pencil, and ink pen of various types well, and there are a good number of pages. The hardcover is firm enough to support the sketchbook if you want to draw somewhere without a table, and the spine allows the pages to open flat. On the con side, the paper isn't heavy enough for any wet media. The biggest drawback for me is that the material on the cover doesn't wrap around the cover boards. It was merely glued to the chipboard and then the whole thing was trimmed. The cover material will not protect the edges from water or humidity, or the rigors of riding around in a backpack. There's an elastic band to hold the pages closed under those conditions, but the cover itself is going to fray and split apart if it's carried around as much as most people like to do with their sketchbooks.
